Age} 22
Other Characters} N/A
Character Name} Lunasa Prismriver
Series} Touhou Project
Canon Point} Post - Ten Desires. She only appears in 2 of the earlier games, but she'll know of the major events of the rest.
Age} Physically? 18 or 19. Her true age is unknown. She's a Poltergeist and doesn't age.
Suitability} I don't believe there are any suitability issues here.
History}
The original Lunasa Prismriver was a human with three younger sisters. Merlin, Lyrica, and Layla. Their father was Count Prismriver, a powerful aristocrat. All of them besides Layla were exceptionally skilled with musical instruments, and Lunasa was an honors student, excelling at nearly everything. After an accident with a powerful artifact that their father had obtained, the girls were orphaned. The three older sisters then went their separate ways, leaving Layla alone. In her grief, Layla used the power of the artifact to create three Poltergeists with the appearance and personalities of her sisters and vanished, teleporting the mansion somehow to Gensokyo.
The three newly created Poltergeists 'lived' in the mansion for years, practicing their instruments. The sounds from their performances within the building sounded eerie and haunting from outside, causing residents of Gensokyo to refer to the place as the Poltergeist Mansion. Eventually, the residents grew used to their music and sometimes even enlisted the sisters to perform publicly or for private parties.
Having received an invitation to perform at a flower viewing at Yuyuko's mansion, Lunasa and her sisters travelled and set up to prepare for a grand performance. However, they set up in front of a barrier that the heroine needs to progress through. Attempting to prevent the heroine from continuing on, Lunasa and her sisters offer to play a song to their 'dear new friend'. Which soon turns into an epic danmaku battle. The sisters are defeated and reveal that the barrier cannot be opened...but can simply be flown over. Unfortunately, the flower viewing ended up being cancelled, as it was unable to occur due to the heroine's efforts. Thus the trio returned to their mansion.
The Prismriver sisters obtain some degree of fame as Gensokyo's most famous musical performers. One day, Lyrica decided she wanted to work on a solo act and wandered throughout Gensokyo trying to find a quiet place to practice. Unknown to her, Lunasa and Merlin were following her from the start, and end up aiding her in a battle against Eiki Shiki, the one who judges the dead to determine where they go after death. They manage to win and bring Lyrica back home.
The events of the other games pass by, and the news of them pass through Gensokyo. I'm assuming that the Prismriver sisters would know of the major events and the results of them, but not all the minor details.
Personality}
Lunasa is first and foremost a very honest person. She has no qualms about letting others know how she feels about something, especially if it's something she disagrees with. Because she is so honest, it is rather easy to take advantage of her to gain information or such. She hates being lied to, but no matter how much it happens, she refuses to do so herself. Lunasa also greatly despises cheating in all forms. Rather than resort to underhanded tricks and shortcuts, she will face challenges head on, and will use all her strength to defeat them. Although she is so honest and seemingly too trusting, Lunasa tends to be pessimistic. Whether this is due to experience with dealing with lies and deceit or simply her own outlook on life, no one knows. She usually assumes the worst will happen, but when all goes well she is always pleasantly surprised. Perhaps this is her own way of never letting herself down.
While she and her sisters are normally kept busy with concerts or working on new pieces of music, Lunasa is not above taking breaks and visiting people from time to time. She tends to stay rather relaxed and calm, rather than stress out about work to be done. Taking it slow and easy and getting something done right is very much preferrable to rushing something and having it fall apart at the last moment. To this end, she is also very mature. As the eldest sister, Lunasa takes care of both Lyrica and Merlin, and is rather protective of them, and they the same for her. You mess with one Prismriver, you mess with them all. While she may prefer solo performances with her violin, this doesn't stop her from working nigh flawlessly as a team with her sisters, or anyone else who she may be paired up with, provided they get along at least somewhat.
While Lunasa is pessimistic about most things, she has much pride in her skills as a violinist. True to her nature, her music tends to be slow and relaxed. While she could easily perform any genre of music she wanted, her specialty is melancholic tunes. She finds the more depressing music beautiful, and whenever she is alone can often be found with her eyes closed enjoying the sounds of her own playing. She shares mainly the same goal with her sisters, to become the most famous musical ensemble in Gensokyo and have their music never be forgotten. Their 'life' is a grand performance, and Gensokyo is their audience. Humans, Youkai, Spirits, Poltergeists, these mean nothing to Lunasa. None are treated different than the others.
Lunasa may be the most mature of her sisters, but she has a wicked soft spot for sweets. Chocolate, cakes, pastries, she loves them all. And can very likely be bribed with them, so long as it doesn't go against her morals. There are lines she won't cross, after all. She is fairly friendly, although she tends not to relish overly long conversations. Well, unless you're praising her music or her sisters. Then go ahead and talk as much as you want, because it pleases her.
Abilities}
Flight - All Touhous have it. C
Danmaku - Basic magical bullets. Can range from stunning to lethal. C
Poltergeist - Lunasa is not human. As a poltergeist, she is able to move inanimate objects by will alone, such as her violin, and is quite capable of playing it without touching it as well, allowing her to utilize both her melancholic melodies and danmaku at the same time. B
Melancholy Music - Lunasa's specialty with the violin is performing pieces that depress the spirit. A
Spell Cards: Special Danmaku attacks that tend to be devastating. B
PCB Spell Cards
PoFV Spell Cards
~Noble Phantasm~:
Phantom Ensemble
Illusionary images of Lunasa's younger sisters appear to help her in combat with both regular danmaku and their most powerful spellcards shown here. EX (Reasoning for this is that it's a combination of her own spell cards, as well as her sister's. Together, the sisters are much, much more powerful than they are separate. If this isn't alright, I will change it to A+.)
Stats (Tentative):
STR: E
END: D
AGI: B
MANA: A+
LUK: B
Baggage}
Belongings arriving with Lunasa are limited to three violins of different makes, her spell cards, and several packages of sweets. Chocolates, gummy candies, cookies, etc.
Notes}
Lunasa could possibly pose as a Servant, Master or Observer (Although Servant would be preferred!). As a Servant, her class would without a doubt be Caster due to the magical nature of all her attacks.
Sample}
Lunasa set her violin down when she noticed that her Master had finally fallen asleep. They'd asked if she could play a lullaby, and as a musician, she couldn't refuse and in fact gladly obliged. She herself didn't require sleep, but humans did. She couldn't help but smile faintly as she watched her Master sleep from across the room. They'd been kind to her so far, even though they'd only met a few days ago. And they'd treated her to sweets! There was always a chance that her Master could just be using her as a means to an end though, which kept her from completely trusting them. But for now, she'd decided that she'd try not to let them down and do her best on the battlefield. While she had no idea what most of the other Servants were capable of, she remained fairly confident in her own skills. She didn't particularly enjoy fighting, but there really wasn't a choice.
This war seemed a selfish thing to her, everyone fighting for what they desired most. A chance to have whatever wish they could think of granted? It sounded too good to be true. Even so, she wasn't sure what wish she would make if they somehow managed to win. She quietly wondered what her Master's wish was. Was it something selfish? Or was it something that she'd agree with? Lunasa would have to ask. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon. Perhaps after their first battle, if they survived. Because what would it matter if they were dead? She sighed quietly to herself and sat back in the chair. If it was alright by her Master, she'd try and gather some information on the other servants tomorrow. It was likely the other servants were doing the same, after all. Lunasa closed her eyes and slowly began to doze off herself. She didn't need sleep, but the habit was still somewhat there. She whispered quietly before she sank into unconsciousness herself.
"...sleep well, Master."
